Time machine

I was getting all misty-eyed this week as I looked back at some old videos of Ellen. I thought, "Wouldn't it be fun to see what we were doing a year ago?"

Fun, yes.

Sad, yes.

It isn't a secret that my memory (of certain things) is terrible. Faces, obscure facts, pages from magazines, and genetic obscurities are ingrained forever, but important stuff - like my childhood, all of high school, college, and apparently Ellen's first year of life - are woefully lacking.

So, last week, reading with my Mom:

And, just about a year ago doing something similar:

I honestly can't really remember her at that stage, and I can't even blame it on sleep deprivation! Thank goodness for Flip video, or it would really be lost.

Just a reason to keep on making memories ...

P.S. Happy Belated Birthday to our friend, Sam! I bet your parents feel like the time machine made a visit to Texas, too.

It's so crazy how fast they grow... I feel like time is flying by at lightning speed these days!
