Ellen loves her Daddy

We had a nice start to our Father's Day ... Erik slept in while I got up with Ellen at about 6:03am. (Though, truth be told, I rested my eyes on the couch while she watched some Sesame Street and tore stuff up).

We had already planned to hit our new favorite breakfast spot, You Say Tomato, for brunch. We were just seconds from parking when Ellen threw up three times in the back seat, all over herself and her car seat. So - plans changed (Theme #1 of parenthood). We used every wipe we had to clean things up just enough to get home while Ellen paraded around 28th and Holmes in her diaper and sandals. Good times.

Ellen promptly got a bath and spent the rest of the day hanging out in her diaper - just in case - but was fine ever after. Erik and I put our cleaning skills to task on the car seat and all its nooks and crannies. We are getting good at cleaning up barf (Theme #2 of parenthood).

We ended the day on a much brighter note with both of our families at the Lund's for an early dinner. Ellen made a bee-line for the water table and was drenched in 3.7 seconds.

She mowed the yard, just like her Daddy did earlier in the day ...

And I was a terrible Mom and neglected to get even one decent picture of Ellen and Erik together. This will have to do ... Erik shared a plastic walrus with Ellen and she decided she loved him even more than she already did.

Erik is a great Dad who fully participates in Ellen's life. We couldn't ask for more and we are both lucky to have him!

Your themes for parenthood are right on. Theme #3 is smiles for when she does things like mowing the lawn in her diaper. Glad she kept the barf to a minimum and you had a nice day!
