Half a Year

Well, we've made it. Six whole months as a family of four, all of us still alive, growing and mostly with smiles on our faces. I was just thinking how fast the next six months will fly by before Georgia's 1st Birthday, yet also how it seems like she has been living in this house forever. Time is funny that way.

I don't have my other camera lens to get the "typical" shot, but similar. Poor Georgia is a petite little thing and this weather wackiness isn't doing us any favors in the clothing department. She has about two outfits that are weather-appropriate today (*snow predicted*) and this isn't one of them. Ellen, however, is wearing the same outfit in her 6 month picture that you can see here. If you put more hair on Ellen and more fat in Georgia's cheeks, they really would look quite similar.

We see the doctor for Georgia's check-up tomorrow, but I think she is pretty low on the weight curve. She had another little sickness this week and has been eating poorly, so that isn't helping matters. I picked her up from school yesterday and her sweet teacher said, "Miss Molly! Georgia is 6 months today - she needs FOOD." Umm, yes, I know. This Mama is too busy to get to it just yet - is that terrible? Soon, I promise.

Georgia is no master of the gross motor skills, but she is making some gains. She found her feet!
She also has been rolling from her back to her tummy consistently for about a week now, mostly in her crib. She has not, however, mastered rolling from her tummy to her back, so the last several nights have been rough with multiple visits to her room to flip her back over or get her un-stuck from the bars.

She continues to be super smiley, but never really giggles. I got a half-giggle out of her the other night right before bed and did everything I could to get her to replicate it, thus ensuring it wouldn't happen again for awhile. She really likes to stand up in my lap and bounce-bounce-bounce and do what I call "super baby" - holding my fingers and "flying".

Excited to see what the next month holds for us!

Was Ellen really sitting up at 6 months? Let's bet how much longer that will take for Georgia>
