Anyone else having a Spring that seems to be in fast-forward? I hate to be the person that always talks about the weather, but, have you seen the WEATHER? It has tricked me into feeling like the year was going much more slowly, then all of a sudden, end of school? Summer? What the what? Add Georgia, who seems to be changing into a real life kid right before my eyes and, well, slow down please.
There's been the typical mischief around here ... Ellen is not such a fan of "quiet time" and I found this art installation the other day ...
Some iPad time and sister snuggles ...
And sister dress-up. Georgia really loves her exersaucer (as do I). Ellen mostly obliges me when I tell her to keep G company and performs lots of shows right at G' eye level.
I think this is Ellen helping with the dessert I made for Cinco de Mayo. Another great party this year, though the first time we've ever had to have it inside because it was COLD and rainy. Erik asked me where should have everyone put their coats, which really tells you about the evening. We decided no kids this year, hallelujah, because then I think we would have canceled. We did, however, run out of tequila at 8:30pm (see above re: no kids).
And, we had a wonderful Mother's Day. Betsy invited my mom and I to see the local production of Listen To Your Mother and it was great. Though I am, of course, a mother, I still really feel like celebrating Mother's Day is all about my mom and Erik's mom. We, quite literally, couldn't make our lives work without them and feel so fortunate every day. I have the excellent fortune of being surrounded by wonderful mothers and I learn so much from them. I hope my girls have the same support system someday if they choose to be mothers (Ellen, for now, says No. She's not interested in a c-section, thankyouverymuch).
Like I said, lucky, lucky.
