Welcoming Georgia

Just backing up a little bit to share some pictures from our hospital stay. I asked Betsy to come and be with us and take pictures and she was nice enough to agree! I guess in some ways it seems "trendy" to have pictures of your birth / hospital stay, but it was really important to me because we had so few pictures with Ellen because she came early. Also, while I felt like I was fully aware of what was happening in the moment, I did look back at these pictures and had forgotten so much.

A bit fuzzy, but pretty much captures our relationship.
Skipped over the OR part ... in by 7:00am, she was born at 7:58am, back in the room not long after!

Seemed like a while before I could finally hold her ...

Sharing the good news with Ellen!

We had great nurses. This one in particular loved the challenge of washing all that hair!

Georgia still loves to have her hair washed like this!

Can't forget the photographer!
Papa was able to sneak in a visit before work and leaving town for the weekend.

Tired face and red nose. The itching from the anesthesia was terrible, but I appreciated the pain relief.

Ellen (and her new baby doll) meeting Georgia with Grammy.

And the rest of the grandparents!

Pretty typical of Ellen's visits ... hanging out in the window, playing with toys, eating treats.

Really good snuggles.

Thanks for letting me join you that day ... I feel so honored to be there so early in sweet Georgia's life!
