A little update from our recent combo 4-year and 1-month doctor visit.
Ellen weighs 40 pounds (75th percentile) and is 40 inches tall (50th percentile). She is really starting to slim down and lose her baby chub (wah!). I was really surprised that her height had shot up so much - she has lingered around the 25th percentile for most of her life, but it is finally easier for her to wear pants this year that aren't, like, 10 inches too long. Ellen was a model patient, and really always has been. No shots, which made the visit even better!
Georgia weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces at 5 weeks (25th percentile) and was 20.5 inches (25th percentile). Her head circumference is 14 3/4 inches (80th percentile). She has gained almost 2 pounds since we left the hospital and she is really starting to outgrow some of her clothes. It is so hard to recognize the change on a daily basis, but Erik was giving her a bottle one night and I came up to her room and found them snuggling and Georgia really did look much bigger (wah again!).
Ellen continues to love on her sister ("her baby") and often whispers to her, "You like me better than Mom, don't you?". She is continuing to adjust to having another family member and said to me one day, as we were brushing her teeth, "I get the feeling you like Georgia better than me". How sad! I of course reassured her that this was not the case. One, I''m so thankful to have a child that can actually express her feelings versus just having a temper tantrum. And, two, she has continued to say this ever since, mostly for effect and attention. Aaah, 4-year-olds.
Georgia continues to be a pretty easy baby, I think. My rose-colored glasses would suggest that Ellen was perhaps the easiest baby ever, and I'm not sure Georgia is exactly that easy, but I think having two children instead of one is actually what the challenging part is. We did get some Zantac for Georgia and they warned us that it tastes really bad. The look on her face would suggest that I am, in fact, giving her poison and it is hard to get her to take the full dose, but I think (hope?) it is making a little difference. She seems happier after eating and there are a few suggestions of a SMILE now and then!

She really is a gorgeous baby, Molly. That first picture is amazing.
What great pics ... love the top one of my two favorite girls, of course! :)
Sweet pix! We started Kate on Zantac as well. It has helped a little. Her little tummy rumbles every night for a few hours - poor thing. So nice to see us go through these things at the same time!! :)
