Daddy's girl

We have finally reached the Daddy's Girl phase.

I think maybe later than many girls, but we are fully in it. Ellen is obsessed with all things Erik.

The other day we were walking upstairs to get dressed and she said,

"I just love my Dad."
"You love my Dad, right?"

Right.

"You and me just love Dad."

Yep.
And what about me, Ellen?

"Well ... I just love my Dad more."
(big fat smirk) "Sorry, Mom."

I know this is totally normal and she doesn't mean it, but it is kind of frustrating / funny to watch. (And Erik is eating it up, of course.)

At the same time, she has started doing this other funny thing: if I bump into her or drop something and say, Whoops! Sorry Ells ... she'll say, "That's OK, Mom. You know I still love you."

Yes, I suppose I do.

Oh my ... she has got it really bad. I wonder who she'll call for when we have our sleep-over ...

Just to be fair, the other night when she said "My Dad is my best friend. I love him the most" ... then she came inside from the walk and said, "My Mom is my best friend. I love her the most."
