Go fly a kite

After the Farmstead on Saturday morning, we visited the Flights of Fancy Kite Festival in Lee's Summit. Erik read about it in the paper on Friday ... it was a game time decision, but both grandmothers were available to join us and it couldn't have been a more beautiful day!

They had some really big, amazing kites that the professionals flew. And then, many of the visitors brought their own kites. Fun!

Have you ever seen a kite this big? It took a LOT of wind to get it off the ground, so we only saw it take flight once while we were there.

Oh, and Ellen practiced her flying, too ...
