Four months!

Little Georgia girl isn't quite as little anymore!

She has had a great month, still a very easy baby. I was telling Erik the other night that I just take for granted our easy babies. When I hear other people talk about their babies that don't sleep or cry all the time I just truly can't even imagine it. We are so very lucky.

The daycare transition has not been easy. She's only there three days a week, so Mondays are rough after four days at home, Tuesdays are marginally better and then Wednesdays are decent, followed by four generally great home days and the process starts all over on Monday. Oh well. I'm less stressed about it this go round - nothing I can really do to change it. A great side effect from daycare is that they aren't allowed to swaddle babies, so they pretty much broke Georgia of the habit. She is now sleeping with both arms un-swaddled and it was SO much easier than with Ellen. Phew.

She has found her hands and now constantly has them in her mouth. She is increasingly interested in playing with rattles and toys and it is so cute to watch her persistence in getting them to her mouth. She isn't a very vocal baby - she coos a bit here and there, but not what I remember with Ellen. Frankly, with Ellen around, it will be hard to get a word in. I do remember a time when I thought Ellen was a "serious" baby - HA. Georgia seems the same - very smiley and interactive, but not a giggle in sight. We shall see ....

She had a great 4-month check-up today. Weighed in at 12 pounds, 2 ounces (15th percentile), length was 23 1/2 inches (25th percentile) and her head is 16 3/8 inches (75th percentile). Pretty much where she has been, though I think she dropped off a bit in her weight after she was sick last month. Ellen weighed almost a full pound more at this age! (You can see her 4 months here).
