Snow Day!

Well, I thought the purchase of snow pants for Ellen would help us avoid any more snow, but not so much! We got a ton - TON - of snow yesterday. I think 12 inches at our house, probably the most at one time since Ellen was born, and maybe for several years previous to that. And, it just came so fast! We woke up Thursday morning (our normal home day - perfect timing) and there was just a dusting. Erik was still thinking about going to work, and then there was about 3 inches in the first hour and 12 inches by about noon. Crazy, and really, so pretty because we didn't have to go out.

I brought a big bowl of snow inside for Ellen to play with - it filled a good hour of playtime in the morning.

And then Ellen and I ventured out front just to shovel the front step. The snow was so deep that she couldn't walk in it and I couldn't get it shoveled fast enough, so it didn't last long. Erik barely ventured out either - his Dad and a friend came to snowblow our immense driveway. We are the luckiest folks around.

We may try to venture out today or tomorrow to sled. There is a great sledding hill at our neighborhood school, but there isn't a path to walk there yet!

The rest of the day was spent snuggling and in jammies.
Georgia is really liking these bugs and birds - grabs hold and shakes them all around!
