Add a toddler in the mix ...

(This picture has nothing to do with anything, except that I've only taken pictures of Ells at the pool this month, which is to say I've only taken pictures 3 days this month).

Sweet Ellen has been (generally) cooperative with our craziness of late. She has thrown more tantrums, which may or may not be related. I just move her kicking and screaming to the middle of the floor because I can't have her kicking my clean cabinets! And, she has this new pitiful crying face when I tell her No. "You tell me no mommy?!?" "WAAAAHHH!"

Well ... Sorry girly. That's my job.

Onward.

Who has great tips for showing a house and/or moving with a toddler? We have miraculously been able to keep our house "show ready" with minimal effort. It is certainly easier on the days we are both working, but I've managed to find a good hiding spot for most things. (Tip - make the hiding spots in your own furniture, not kitchen cabinets - people won't look there). I was "staging" our house and read a tip to get rid of everything smaller than a basketball in every room.We mostly did that, though of course Ellen has 1 trillion tiny treasures that needed a home. I have also been keeping a laundry basket in my car for last minute things that need to be stashed.

Our minds are wandering to the moving process, though, which sounds just about as terrible as I think it is.

help???

This might sound crazy, but I bought some new really loud toys (like a recorder) so that I could always hear where Nate was in the new, empty and non-childproof house. So exciting!

Someone must sell a hat that says ...

"Today, I am the boss!"

Hate the hat, not the parent.

After the move and renovation are finished, you could let Ellen wear it for an hour.
