When you need it, you need it

It is called a coffee float.

Or, you could call it improvising.

While I love my coffee, I just can't do it black. Even Splenda alone doesn't cut it. I haven't mastered visiting the grocery store with Ellen (or, really, haven't even tried) so we don't have milk, cream, creamer, powdered creamer - nothing! Breastmilk we've got a plenty, but that isn't an option, either. So, ice cream it is.

Why the coffee emergency? Miss Ellen has her first cold. (Stupid daycare). It seems just to be a STUFFY head and cough, no fever, and she is just as chatty and smiley as usual. One does need some fortitude, however, to deal with a screaming baby who has just had drops of saline pushed down her nose. Poor thing. (Me and her).

I've actually done that-not terrible. Of course I think our ice cream was flavored butter cup or something. Sorry about Ellen-don't worry Jack had a stuffy nose from when we took him to the nursery until...well he still does.

Ice cream is the answer to all life's woes. I think you're on to something, but I think Starbucks beat you to it. Hope Ellen is feeling better by tomorrow.

OH my poor baby Ellen! Get ready for lots of colds...no fun. We used to put Lucy in her car seat and let her sleep there next to the humidifier. that seemed to work...OR we put rolled up towels under her matress to prop her up. No fun.

I've totally done this and then found out it's a "real" thing! See: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/affogato-recipe/index.html and affogato di gelati -- yum yum!
Hope you all are feeling better!
