Tonight she went down for her 7:00pm nap with only a few peeps. She woke up screaming, though, at 8:00 and kept it up for 5 minutes. I thought there must be something wrong, and I thought she probably had to burp. I picked her up out of her crib, she burped, and I put her back down and she instantly fell asleep. Not a peep out of her. Who knew that a belching baby could make a mother feel so GOOD?

It's the little things
I try to appreciate the small pleasures in life - a beautiful sunset, the colors of trees in the fall, dessert - but there are so many new pleasures with Ellen. Erik and I played tough love this weekend - let Ellen "cry it out" in an effort to teach her to calm herself to sleep. Like the genius I know she is (I know, I can't have an objective opinion) she is sleeping wonderfully so far. The girl loves to sleep! I can't help but think she is happier, just as her parents are.

You have a ridiculously good baby. Preston cried for 2 hours last night from 1-3! Count your lucky stars...
It works, it really does! Just remember the rules so you don't end up "babying" her until she's a year old -- or older. Is she pushing herself up in the picture? Wow!
