I anticipated that Ellen's party might conflict with the Santa party we are lucky enough to be invited to every year, as the weekends in December fell kind of funny this year. I debated skipping it, but thought Ellen would be sad to miss it AND I didn't want to break the tradition AND I didn't want to stand in line for another Santa. Sooooo ... make it work! (See 2012 and 2011 and 2010 here)
I rushed straight to see Santa with the girls and Erik followed close behind after wrapping up the birthday party. Santa was nice enough to hold Ellen and Georgia's presents 'till the end of the sack of gifts.
And, Ellen begged to have a family picture, so here ya go! This is as good as it gets ...
Also, worth noting, I was standing in the corner and juggling Georgia and talking with one of our friends. She casually asked, "So - what are you guys doing tonight?" I told her we were going home to open 21 birthday presents and you should have seen the look on her face and heard the loud GUFFAW that came out of her mouth! She quickly recovered and said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I mean - that's just funny." And, really, I had to agree.

Thanks goodness the Ballards provide this milestone occasion every year. Think what it saves ... just staying away from the mall!

Love the pics of Georgie & Santa ... she was so good for him.
And Ellen looks SO thrilled to be with them again. Do they remember the kids from year to year?
