She started standing alone around Thanksgiving and was taking a few tiny steps. By 13 months she was taking a few steps in a row, and then a week later could walk from the dining room into the kitchen. Now, about 10 days after that, I would say she walks about 50% of the time, but still crawls for speed. I forget how amazing it is to see how quickly they adapt! (Can't get the video to load, so just imagine it ...)
She continues to be a great eater and doesn't turn her nose up at much of anything, though has a terrible habit of begging to eat food off of other people's plates and whines HORRIBLY if she sees some other type of food product in the kitchen that she can't have, like frozen chili or raw chicken.
She also likes to share food!
She likes to crawl up on the hearth, mess with my chalkboard, and then can't get down. Surprisingly, she hasn't really bothered with the Christmas tree, just like she hasn't found the stairs in our house yet. Must have my sense of direction.
She is FINALLY saying MaMa and DaDa with apparent purpose, but also just likes to make sounds all the time - she is much more vocal than she used to be. I was gone for a meeting after work and came home late to put her to bed, sat down in her rocker and she leaned in with a huge, open mouth, slobbery kiss - the best. She is still willing to comply with on-demand tricks: Wave! Clap! Blow Kisses! Give MaMa a Hug! We are still working on How Big is Georgia? So Big!
She will sign more, all done, please, thank you, and we are working on book. She kind of has her own sign for deedee (what we call loveys) that is snuggling her hand to her ear. She continues to do the "raise the roof" sign for night-night and I think, but am not sure, that her first other word is NIGHT! that she hollers out when it's bedtime and we are making the rounds saying goodnight to everyone.
She is working on teeth 7 and 8 (while teeth 3-6 are still emerging) and she loves to dance on command, and will also pop and lock her knees to Erik's made up song of "Georgia, Georgia, Georgia Lund" .... over and over ... repeat repeat.
