Speaking of big, we had her 9-month well check and all is, indeed, well. She's right on track and perhaps a few weeks behind Ellen in crawling and teeth (current count: zero), but she is close on both fronts. She weighs 16 pounds 4 ounces (20th %ile), is 26 1/2 inches long (10th %ile) and her head circumference is 17 1/2 inches (75th %ile). She is actually the exact same length and has the exact same head size as Ellen at this age, but Ellen weighed 18 pounds. Ooof. (See Ellen's Nine Month Pic here)
Once again, took 1 million pictures to get this gem.
At some point I feel that it isn't worth making my family hate me in the process of getting a good picture, but someday the girls will thank me. Right?
Outakes ...
| Soooo close! |
I keep saying that Georgia is really close to crawling, but she does improve every day. Today I came in from getting the groceries and I thought someone had moved her, but she had shimmied her way across the floor. She can lunge and reach with the best of them.
She still eats like a champ. The last couple of weeks she has been getting up randomly around 4am wanting to eat, which is no bueno, but I'm chalking it up to a growth spurt and not a bad habit (yet). She eats all kinds of fruits and veggies and seriously hasn't turned her nose up at a single thing. She is moving on to more and more finger foods and textured things and is quite the sour puss when she sits at the table with us at dinner and only gets banana and cereal and not everything on our plates. (She gobbled up the chicken sate with peanut sauce we had tonight when I couldn't get her to stop whining).
| Out of focus, but oh so good! |
She is becoming a more and more distracted nurser and likes to grab my nose and mouth and has taken to slapping me in the face. Niicceee. What is actually sweet, though, is that when I sit her up to burp her, she now takes the burp cloth and wipes my face with it. Ha!
Just tonight I was thinking that I have completely forgotten about whining children who can't use words. Georgia has really started to whine when she wants attention or food and, while I'm used to Ellen's whining, I can usually reason with her. G? Not so much. Today Ellen said, "Hey Mom. I've noticed that Georgia is happier if you sit and play with her." Thanks for the observation, Ells, as if I wasn't already feeling like the poor sweet thing was being neglected while I race around the house.
She really is a sweetheart, and smiles with her whole body, but worth documenting her unhappy face:
Generally, though, we have a lot of this:
Ellen buried Georgia under her elephant "tent" and G couldn't have been happier. They are good playmates and Ellen often asks for Georgia to come in her play room. So far, Georgia is happy to sit there and watch Ellen's activity. We'll see what next month holds ...

I'm pretty sure none of these pictures are out-takes! :)
They seriously look like twins in the last picture ... too cute!
LOVE LOVE LOVE. Georgia looks so good in lavender! Love the pix of Ellen feeding her - can hardly tell it's out of focus - it's just that good ! A framer maybe a 4x6 framer? :) Enjoy this pre-crawling time, as it changes EVERYTHING, believe me. ;) I'm just a month ahead of you and looking at these pix it feels like a lifetime just because of the crawling, cruising variables! What days are you free? We really should get the girls together to play sometime!
