Dog days

So, summer, huh?
I think summer is one of the cruel jokes of adulthood - you have no idea as a child how crazy and hectic it tends to be. Our July had fewer things on the calendar than June, but it seems like it's been every bit as busy. And now we are planning for a little vacation and some upcoming classroom switcheroos and, well, busy. I was looking at the neighborhood school calendar because they have some events a few times a year for Pre-K kids and they have already set the date for Kindergarten Round-Up in March 2014. I almost fainted.

In the meantime, it probably seems as if poor Georgia has been forgotten. I assure you, she has not! She is changing by leaps and bounds and I just want to put her on slow motion, but at the same time, we were watching lots of videos last night with Ellen from when she was about 2-years-old. She was so cute and hilarious - can't wait to see Georgia's version of the same.

Miss G spent most of the first part of the month sick sick sick. I have a lot of pictures of her on my phone, but mostly they are of her face with a nebulizer mask and her back with a mystery rash (mystery solved: amoxicillin). She also lost a half a pound or so when she was sick, so I was pushing protein and now the little gobbler is actually seeming chunky to me! We'll see how much she weighs next week.

Her hair weighs at least 1/2 a pound ...

And, she is really close to crawling, or at least getting on all fours and rocking. If it was ok for babies to play with plastic bags, then she would be super motivated.
The weather has been really nice this week and I got the girls all situated outside yesterday afternoon so I could work in the yard ... and ... it started raining.
Also, this is why I'm a good mom of girls. Georgia just sat on her blanket for an hour and Ellen tossed this ball up in the air and caught it for an hour. She didn't want to kick it in case in went in the street. I got lots of work done. Win win win.
I mean, seriously, look at Georgia's hair. It is completely out of control. I also have hardly dressed her this month due to her rash and now it's just easier to have her nakey. Sue me.

Ellen does such a nice job of entertaining Georgia - a huge help to me. Look at G's little hand on her leg - so sweet.

And here's a picture from the first of the month followed by one from today ... calories much?

Georgia is getting more and more communicative. I think probably still less "talkative" than Ellen was at this age, but does the random baby holler (like, "HEY! I CAN MAKE SOUNDS!") and has started her d's and b's. Is that age-appropriate? My speech path friends will let me know. Mostly though, and again I don't remember this with Ellen, she communicates so much with her body language. She flaps her arms and kicks her legs with such intention - it is so funny to watch. Sometimes I walk toward her and she is flapping her arms so hard it's almost like she is going to lift off the ground. She has a whole repertoire of "raspberry" sounds - one for Hello, one for All Done With This, and one for Super Tired Put Me In Bed.

Love that sweet thing.

Not nearly enough time for me either!
