She loved it!

Ellen had a great (GREAT!) time trick-or-treating and it was so fun to watch her enjoy it. She kept asking when the parade was coming and I had to explain over and over that there was no parade, but rather we walked to visit our neighbors. Or, maybe it really is like a parade?

She was very happy to be the leader and drag us to this house and that house. We went out very early, both because our time was limited and we wanted to be home to answer our own door.

We weren't sure what to expect from visitors to our door, but we were totally out of candy (including what random stuff I dug out of our pantry) by 7:45pm. I think we had more kids at our door tonight than we had in the last 8 years combined at our old house. It was really fun! We are also very close to an elementary school and I got to see all the kids walk home after school in their costumes ... it was a gorgeous, sunny day ... not much cuter than that!

Ellen thoroughly enjoyed accounting for her loot and it will be interesting to see how the next few days go. You can see below that she was NOT interested in sharing.

"Don't even think about it, Pere."
