What have we been up to??

Working on our new house!

I have a hundred pictures of the (filthy) interior - but it will be so much better to show you the before and after. Someday.

A little bit of this ...

And a little bit of that.

Ells has really been a trooper, keeping herself reasonably occupied with every manner of small toy she remembers to bring to the new house. (Though, she is often ticked when she can't find those small things at the old house and Momma's brain can't keep track).

We are getting more and more excited about this endeavor and can see a small light at the end of the tunnel of projects. We are fortunate to be able to do the big / messy projects before we move in and I'm so excited to see how it all comes together.

Right now I'm feeling about 50% money pit and 50% dream house toward this one, which I guess isn't too bad! :)

UPDATE!! We are now moved into the new house and slowly, but surely, life is getting back to normal. Or, a new normal I suppose.

New appliances? check
New floors? check
New paint? check
Sanity? Lost some time ago ...

Ellen is mostly happy in the new house, but she does say from time to time, "I miss my house. My 79th Terrace house."

Sniff, sniff. Me too, babe.

This quote might be useful: "I've been to a lot of places, but I've never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can't go there alone ... you have to be in Cahoots with somebody. I've also never been in Cognito, either... I hear no one recognizes you there. I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport, you have to be driven there. I've made several trips ... and I'm looking at property."
