Back to real life

We've returned to reality after the excitement of Ellen's big win. She is unfazed by the whole thing. As Erik says, her winnings will probably pay for the postage for her college applications in 2026, but it's a start!

We did enjoy a truly beautiful fall weekend (minus the Jayhawks). Ellen is working on a new nap schedule, so she required an EXTRA amount of entertaining.

We played with Grammy on Friday at Loose Park.

On Saturday, we spent the morning with Mere and Aunt Betsy. The first weekend of every month is good for vintage shopping ... we visited Good JuJu and Urban Mining Homewares, plus an estate sale off Ward Parkway. I continue to be skeeved out by perusing the deceased's worldly goods, but they often find treasures. We also had a brief breakfast at Napoleon's in Westport. I'm not sure if it is as good as before, but ham and cheese wrapped in a buttery croissant is never really bad. (Thanks Aunt Betsy for the photo!)

We also spent Saturday afternoon with the Kruegers and the Rabbitts watching the KU game. Or, really, just chasing children and eating yummy food. Ellen was so excited to be there that she didn't sleep a wink!

We ended our weekend with the Lillis crew for a lovely dinner. We got to see the beautiful addition to their house and Ellen was enchanted with Brendan and Mary Kate. (I was enchanted with the apple crisp!)

And, now, Monday again ... how does that happen so fast?

I bet you meant to include the fact that Ells is thisclose to saying my name.

Or some version of it.

Or something that sounds like "Beh" which is good enough for me!

Glad for us that Ellen didn't sleep...she was a joy to watch (so glad Evan didn't steamroll right over her!) It was fun :)
