Practice makes perfect

I had the chance to take an amateur photography class with Tyler Wirken last weekend.

Let me stress amateur.

Brandi and I had a good time and learned lots. LOTS. My pictures are no better and, in fact, are probably worse at this point. BUT, I have a pretty good idea of why they aren't good and how I might fix that. Baby steps.

How cute are baby pajamas?

This was not an intended technique - instead more a side effect of poor lighting and crummy camera lens - but, pretty effectively shows the activity level at our house!

The little darling fell fast asleep on our way home from school this week. Couldn't resist those toes ...

Can you give ME some photo tips??? Would love to hear what I can do better based on what you learned at your class!I think you take great pics. I think I need to get a better camera if I want REALLY good ones.

Oooooh-jealous. So was the class also specific about your camera?

Tyler uses Canon cameras and I have a Canon Rebel XS, so that worked well. I also found a good tutorial on http://thepioneerwoman.com/photography/
She talks about all the terms and such - would have been hard for me to understand before the class, but now is a very helpful review.

Glad you enjoyed it. There is another class in a few months. If only I had a nice camera :) MAYBE you should upgrade & let me buy your camera from you! That sounds like the perfect idea!
