Hi Ho, Hi Ho (or, why I wish I was Canadian)

One week and counting until I go back to work. Why don't Americans get one YEAR of PAID maternity leave? Barack, help a sister out!

Plus, who knew that sending a 12-week-old to daycare is like packing a grown child for camp? (See: evidence below). And, trust me, the camp trunks aren't far behind - Waldemar anyone?

I will spend our last week at home cooking to stock the freezer and cuddling with the girl. Ellen is doing her part by studying up to start school ...

p.s. I do feel incredibly fortunate that I was able to spend 12 weeks at home with our new little one. I do love my job and it will be nice to have some brain stimulation beyond Baby Einstein musicals, not to mention the fact that I still get to spend two days a week with said little one. Again, incredibly fortunate.

You could be leaving eight little ones and six others at home with granny while you seek a Masters degree. I'm just saying ....

And just in case you thought you could pack all that stuff and it would be sufficient for a week-get ready to do it everytime you take her! For some reason the smaller they are the more stuff they need.

You are a lucky mommy to have such a cute baby. I know you'll miss her, but she'll be just fine at daycare. (That's what I have to tell myself every day...)
She looks so smart in her glasses!
